Position Held: Freelance Technical Illustrator
Duties: Producing technical illustrations and graphics from a home office. Currently working on a long term project for Diamond Aircraft in Austria. Work involves a monthly visit on site in Wiener Neustadt to collect information and discuss requirements. Ongoing updates and new drawings for IPC and Maintenance Manuals created back in the UK. Also working on a complete set of Installation Guides as part of an ongoing project for John Cullen Lighting, based in Kings Road, London.

Position held: Technical Illustrator / IPC Parts Compiler
Duties: Preparation of illustrations for technical manuals in the aviation industry. Spare parts catalogues and maintenance manuals produced using a combination of CAD information and photos taken on site. Travel to Germany and Austria regularly for site visits. Also responsible for entering and compiling IPC databases in both English and German. Clients included Grob GmbH, and Zeppelin Airships.

Position held: Director
Duties: In December 1997 I left Nokia in order to start my own business working from home.
Projects included the creation of schematic diagrams for technical manuals and tender responses, OHP's and training material, complex technical presentations, large format network diagrams, OCR and image editing. Clients included Nokia Telecommunications and Hawes signs.
May 1992 - Nokia Telecommunications, Ermine Business Park, Huntingdon
Position held: Technical Illustrator / Graphic Designer
Duties: Preparation of illustrations for site documentation, tenders, training aids, presentation material and OHPs. Clients included London Underground, British Rail, Cable & Wireless, Orange, Cellnet and Telewest. During this period I attended formal training courses in graphics and CAD software (Micrografx Designer, CorelDraw, PowerPoint, MicroStation) and developed a working relationship with approximately 50 - 60 key personnel within Nokia.
July 1991 - Freelance Technical Illustrator / Graphic Designer
Duties: Worked on site for Nokia Telecommunications, producing illustrations and graphics mainly for the London Underground Central Line project in the Dedicated Networks department.
In May 1992 I became a full time Nokia employee.

Position held: Partner
Duties: Initially a two-man partnership, the company grew to over 30 employees in a 5 year period and offered a full documentation service. My role developed to head a team of specialists producing illustrations and typesetting for spare parts catalogues, instruction manuals, training and exhibition material etc. Clients included British Telecom, J.I. Case, Rover Group, Caterpillar UK.
January 1984 - GT Designs, Quadrant House, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, UK
Position held: Studio Manager
Duties: Weekly site visits to Jaguar, Rover Group and Vauxhall collecting information and attending meetings to discuss work schedules. Produced large format trackside visual training aids and presentation material. Supervised the team of illustrators and tracers, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Clients included Rover Group, Land Rover, & Jaguar Cars.
October 1982 - Mix Logistik Group, Lahnstein Hauptstrasse, 5400 Koblenz, West Germany
Position held: Senior Illustrator
Duties: Collection of information and delivery of illustrations to clients including Still fork lift trucks, Bomag road rollers and MAK radar systems. Reported directly to the studio manager and supervised 6 illustrators, responsible for quality control.
December 1980 - OSW GmbH, Annastrasse 12, 8900 Augsburg, West Germany
Position held: Technical Illustrator
Duties: Produced illustrations for advertising and technical brochures. Clients included Bosch power tools and MWM engines.
October 1979 - Techdok GmbH, Annastrasse 12, 8900 Augsburg, West Germany
Position held: Technical Illustrator
Duties: Preparation of illustrations for spare parts catalogues, including site visits to clients collecting information. Projects included work for large earth moving equipment manufacturers Demag and Liebherr Cranes.
October 1978 - Techdoc Ltd, 26 Calenick Street, Truro, Cornwall
Position held: Trainee Technical Illustrator
Duties: Preparation of illustrations from information supplied by the various German branches of the company. The role was basically a training position in preparation for a move to Germany. Clients included Mercedes Benz, BMW and the German Ministry of Defence.
